THE HIDDEN SONATA begins with an image that refuses an ordinary reading.
Across its surface, a regal woman sits at the piano while an enigmatic winged deity emerges behind her—a composition suspended somewhere between music, power, mythology and the unseen. The figures appear to occupy different worlds, yet exist within the same scene. It is this collision of symbols that gives the piece its name: a sonata whose meaning remains partially concealed.
For ZIANMI, the image was never intended simply as decoration. It becomes the architecture of the object itself. The placement of each figure is considered in relation to the shape of the clutch, allowing the composition to continue across its surface rather than behaving like a conventional repeated print.
A European Object
THE HIDDEN SONATA follows a deliberately layered fabrication process.
The body of the clutch is fabricated in London, establishing its form and structure. The piece then continues its journey to Italy, where it is stitched and finished by hand, bringing together two distinct traditions of European making within a single object.
This movement between London and Italy is part of the artifact's identity. It is not conceived as a mass-produced accessory, but as an object whose construction, imagery and finishing are intentionally uncommon.
Symbolism Made Physical
The tension between the woman at the piano and the deity behind her gives the piece its visual rarity.
Music represents composition, discipline and human creation. The supernatural figure introduces another presence—something hidden, watchful and difficult to define.
Together they create the central idea behind THE HIDDEN SONATA:
what is visible is only part of the composition.
The clutch becomes both accessory and tableau—a small piece of portable art in which fashion, mythology and image-making meet.

Bust
Measure around the fullest part of the bust, keeping the measuring tape level around the body.
Underbust
Measure directly beneath the bust. The tape should sit close to the body without being pulled excessively tight.
Waist
Measure around the natural waist—the narrowest point of the torso, generally above the navel.
Hips
With feet together, measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat.
Thigh
Measure around the fullest upper part of the thigh. This measurement is particularly important for stockings, harnesses and fitted legwear.
For the most accurate result, take measurements over bare skin or lightweight undergarments using a soft measuring tape.
